You will need:

Acril yarn or cotton thread: grey, pink, white

Hook: 1,75 mm (depends on your thread size )

2 eyelashes

plastic eyes

Polyester fiberfill for stuffing

Scissors

Glue

Needle for sewing

…and of course a good mood! 

Toy size~ width 12cm ; length 22cm; height 13cm.

Used abbreviations:

ch – Chain

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

increase – work two single crochet in the same stitch from the row below

decrease – single crochet the next two stitche togeather

Pattern notes:

You can use a different hook, depending what size you want the elephant to be.

Use any colors that you want. Mix it up and make it beautiful.

Numbers in brackets () means how much stitches you have in the row.

I recommend to use marker so you can better see where row starts and ends.

1 st Step:

Glue eyes to face

2 nd Step:

Glue eyelashes to eyes.

Elephant`s mouth:

Mouth consist of two parts : inside and outside.

Mouth outside:

Use grey thread.

Row 1: 2ch (2)

Row 2: 3sc in the second ch from hook, 1ch, turn (3) (when row ends turn work and crochet to opposite side)

Row 3: 1sc, increase, 1sc, 1ch, turn (4)

Row 4: 1sc, 2 times increase, 1sc, 1ch, turn (6)

Row 5: 1sc, 4 times increase, 1sc, 1ch, turn (10)

Row 6: 10sc (10) Continue to crochet sc on both sides of the triangle. Fasten and leave thread for sewing.

Mouth inside:

Use pink thread

Row 1: 2ch (2)

Row 2: 3sc in the second ch from hook, 1ch, turn (3) (when row ends turn work and crochet to opposite side)

Row 3: 1sc, increase, 1sc, 1ch, turn (4)

Cut, fixate thread and hide it.

Elephant`s ears:

Ear consist of two parts : inside and outside.

Start crocheting with ear`s inside.

Use pink thread. Make 2 units.

Row 1: 15ch + 2ch (15) Crochet from one side to other (when row ends turn work and crochet to opposite side)

Row 2: 15sc,1ch (15)

Row 3: decrease, 11sc, decrease, 1ch (13)

Row 4: 13sc,ch (13)

Row 9: decrease,6sc,decrease (8)

Crochet ear`s outside the same way. Use grey thread. Make 2 units.

Crochet ears outside and inside togeather with sc, make 5sc in both upper triangle corners.

Elephant`s legs:

4 units

Use pink thread

Row 1: 2ch,6sc in second chain, make ring (6)

Row 2: 2sc in every chain (12)

Row 3: (1sc,increase) 6 times (18)

Change thread to grey

Row 4-16: 18sc round (18)

Stuff and crochet further

Row 17: (1sc,decrease) 6 times (12)

Fixate thread, cut and hide it.

Sew legs to body. Sew nails on legs with White thead.

Elephant`s tail:

Use grey thread

Row 1: 7ch, extra 2ch, turn(7)

Row 2: 5sc, 2hdc (7)

Fixate thread, cut and hide it. Sew tail to body. Your elephant is ready!
