For the hair, use “Valya” yarn (Semenovskaya factory). Cut pieces of the desired length and attach them to the head while crocheting before decreases. Thread each “hair” inside between the stitches spirally, starting from the top. Tie a knot inside on each “hair.” Since this yarn is thick, you may need to crochet 5-6 rows spirally for the desired volume. You can also watch a similar attachment method by Nelly Shisterova. Of course, you can attach the hair using any known and convenient method. 

Hat 

To crochet the hat, create a chain of ch stitches equal to the circumference of your doll’s head. For example, 56 stitches. Join the chain to form a ring. 

Round 1: Sc in a circle. 

Round 2: Ribbing with alternating front and back post double crochet stitches around the circle. 

Round 3: Crochet several rounds with sc stitches, constantly trying on the hat. I did 11 rounds. Tighten the opening, sew up any holes if necessary. Make a pom-pom and sew it on. 

Purse 

I hand-sewed the purse from felt. Cut it according to the pattern, sew the sides, attaching the handle, sew a button on the lid, and decorate it (in my case with a key charm). I stitched it with a blanket stitch “over the edge.” Note: Before cutting the purse handle, measure the required length based on your doll; you may need to lengthen or shorten the pattern. Remember that the doll’s head is large, so the handle should not be too short. The pattern is approximate.

Special Techniques: Crochet in spiral rounds = This doll is worked spiral rounds (do not Join) Use stich marker to

mark the beginning of each round.

How to finish your crochet work in the spiral round = This will help to minimize the jog in

height. Instructions: slip stich in the next st, fasten off, use a yarn needle, skip 1 st, insert the

needle in the next st, pull the yarn through (Pic # 1,2) insert the needle in the center of the last

st and pull the yarn through to secure. (pic # 3,4)

Change color with a single crochet = Instructions: Insert the hook in next st, yo, and draw up a

loop, you have two loops, instead of finishing the sc, add the second color and pull through 2

loops, fasten off the previous color and make a knot (see pictures).

Work on the BB of the chain = As the picture indicate instead of working de sc at the BL, work

the sc at the BB of the ch. this will allow to have sts to the both sides to work in spiral. Start the

spiral round where the arrow indicates in pic # 5.

Stuffing = when you fill arms and legs do it in small amount of fiber fill, little by little, that way

you can give a better shape, use bigger amount of fiber fill with pieces like head and body.

How to close the remaining holes = when you finish the head, for example, you will have a little

hole at least 6 sts, to finish or close this hole, sl st in the next st, fasten off and leave a tail, use a

needle, insert from the back to from and pull through all the way, make the same in every stitch

around, then pull the thread to close the hole, weave in all loose ends.

Special Stiches: Single crochet = insert the hook in the next st, yo, draw up a lp, yo, and pull through two lps.

Half-Double Crochet = yo, insert the hook in the next stitch, yo and draw up a lp, there are now
